Aim of this step: To consider that humans carry a highly complex genetic language within us which attests to a designer.

DNA is language. It has a code and alphabet that has instructions how to construct proteins in the human body. Incredibly complex, DNA provides written instructions for the assembly of proteins in our bodies. Proteins act like bricks, electricity and plumbing of a house blueprint. They provide the essentials for the house and operation of the house. The body has a blueprint that it writes for its own construction. This is undertaken by DNA and proteins in the body.

 

Scientists have found that within our DNA lies a code for its construction. Literally a written code that can be broken down into values, just like a computer code. Information science will tell us that wherever information lies, an intelligent designer is behind it. Someone or something is writing the code – just as is required for a book, a painting, etc.

 

Your DNA in your body has the instructions inside your body to create the right cells that your body needs. Think of it like a production line. Your body has thousands of extremely complex production lines going on inside you at the same time. If you cut your arm, how does your body fix itself? The answer lies in the fact that your body has the instructions within itself in the DNA code to do this.

 

You probably don’t need me to tell you how incredible our DNA is, but when I was researching this, two things stood out to me:

1. Just like a written book does not consist of random letters but letters in a very specific order, so is our DNA ordered in a very specific manner, just a lot more complex and ordered than a book. 

2. DNA strands hold enormous amounts of information. One single tiny microscopic strand holds the equivalent information as stacking encyclopedias on top of each other from the earth to the moon and back seven times. Seven times!

 

Suffice to say that just a single strand of DNA is incredible, but the fact that our very existence is being driven by a precise production line of DNAs – now that is just mind-blowing. When I thought about it, I could only come to the conclusion that this was a thoughtful, methodological process, not something that just came together and somehow worked in sync inexplicably. Think about it this way - If you put all the building materials in a pile, would a house build itself? Natural causes and Intelligent causes are very different.

 

It is scientifically proven that our bodies have the instructions on what to do. For some Atheists, this discovery toppled the theory of evolution and brought them to believe in an intelligent designer (one of these was Dr Antony Flew further outlined below) .

In December 2004 it was announced that long time British Professor and Philosopher, Antony Flew, regarded by many as "the world's most acclaimed atheist", had renounced his atheism in favour of theism (belief in a God).

One of the reasons cited by Prof. Flew was "the evidence". He admitted that for a long time the growing problem of Evolution's inability to explain how life began, or for that matter, how anything began, led him to the inevitable conclusion that it was an inadequate answer in the face of the evidence. Then when the DNA Genome code was unravelled the evidence for Design became "undeniable". These two pieces of evidence (1. the existence of life demanding a Life-Source, and 2. the scientific evidence of an extremely complex code in the make-up of that life- DNA) were enough for Prof. Flew to renounce atheism.

The chance of one simple protein of 150 amino acids grouping together by chance is 1/10 to the power of 164!!! This percentage is so infinitely small it may as well be zero. 1/10 to the power of only 24 is considered to be zero! Even if this protein cell was then created, you would then require thousands and thousands more to begin creating something of real life. A protein cell is also well short of a living cell. The chance of a living cell falling together by chance is literally impossible. If this is true, how is it possible that somehow a human knows how to reproduce and ponder the reason they have been created?
